Covington Blue from Benjamin Moore is a classic inviting tone inspired by the documented colors found in 18th- and 19th- century architecture.   Perhaps as a nod to childhood memories of my grandmother's house, I chose to paint the kitchen cabinets of this Nantucket cottage in this wonderful shade of blue.   The honed carrera marble on the countertops and a porcelain farmhouse sink from Whitehaus serve to reinforce the old world feel.
A well-thought out floor plan will be your roadmap to success.  Don’t be intimidated- you don’t necessarily need to call in a team of architects.  A floor plan is simply a measured drawing of the space which will allow you to play with furniture size and placement.  It is so worth spending some time with a measuring tape and graph paper before you invest in fine pieces of furniture that may ultimately not be suited for the space.
